Learning data on this device

The app uses browser storage to remember lesson progress, correct and attempted answers, daily goals, practice streaks, exercise mistakes, and whether introductory messages have been shown. This allows the lessons to continue without an account and can work even when cloud syncing is unavailable.

This local learning data is associated with the browser profile, not with a student name. It remains until the browser clears site data or the control below is used.

Optional analytics and session replay

Google Analytics, Vercel Web Analytics, and LogRocket load on every visit. They are used to understand page visits, lesson starts and completions, errors, and interaction problems. The app does not use these tools for advertising, and analytics events are designed not to include student names.

LogRocket can recreate on-screen interactions to help diagnose a broken lesson. Form inputs are sanitized, password fields are not recorded, and account surfaces are marked private. A signed-in learner's session is tagged with their account id and email address so a reported problem can be traced back to the session that produced it; signed-out sessions carry no such tag. Free-text feedback is sent to LogRocket only when a visitor deliberately submits that feedback.

Optional accounts

A learner may choose to create an account using an email address and password. Firebase Authentication processes the sign-in information. Cloud Firestore stores the learner's synced path progress, daily-goal and streak data, unlocked sections, and recent practice mistakes in a record restricted to that signed-in account.

Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are not stored in the Ear Training App database. Firebase may process authentication data, such as email address, IP address, and browser information, to provide authentication and prevent abuse. See Firebase privacy and security information.

Children and classroom use

A child can use the introductory activity without supplying personal information. Teachers and parents should use the account-free version for a first classroom or home session. A parent, guardian, or school should decide whether creating an optional account is appropriate for a child under the rules that apply to them.

The current teacher pilot does not ask teachers to upload class lists, grades, or student contact details. Read the teacher pilot guide before using the activity with a group.

Your controls

Clear learning data from this browser. Signed-in learners can permanently delete their Firebase sign-in account and synced learning record from the account menu by confirming their password.

Retention and practical limits

Local progress remains until it is cleared. Synced learning data remains while the account exists and is removed through the account-deletion control. Analytics providers retain information according to the project settings and their service terms. Aggregated statistics that no longer identify an account or browser may remain in reports.
